She’s the painfully shy girl who was bullied at school and went on to study at Cambridge. An actress who’s worked for 30 years, and who this month stars in the year’s biggest film–her second James Bond. Yet we still know so little about her off-screen life. ~Cosmo UK
Despite having been in film for 30 years, we’re beginning to hear the name Naomie Harris more and more as she climbs to the top of stardom with her second James Bond movie Spectre among some other great films like Skyfall, Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom and Pirates of the Caribbean.
In a 2012 Cosmopolitan UK article, Kayleigh Dray says Naomie’s Bond character, Eve Moneypenny, could be the kick-ass Bond girl we’ve been waiting for who gives Bond a run for his money as opposed to falling for Bond’s charms, as usual and with her ballsy attitude, we begin to see the evolution of the first Bond woman.
Naomie is quickly becoming Hollywood’s latest cover girl with her Cosmopolitain UK and Essence Magazine’s December cover and we also see her featured on the cover of Town & Country UK magazine’s winter edition. InStyle magazine named Naomie one of Hollywood’s 50 Best Dressed and Vogue magazine showed us her top 35 red carpet looks.
Born to Trinidadian and Jamaican parents in 1976, Naomie has been in film and television since she was 9 years old. She has been nominated for BAFTA, London Film Critics and NAACP awards and has received Black Reel, Glamour and Essence awards.
You’re definitely going to want to keep your eyes on this rising starlette. I myself am very excited to see what’s coming next for Naomie Harris.
Loving my @townandcountrymag UK cover and feature that went for sale on stands today. #dress @ralphandrusso A photo posted by Naomie Harris (@naomieharris) on
