The October 2015 issue of Essence Magazine has not one, not two but 6 different covers this month in celebration of the Black excellence in prime time television that is the Shondaland family of TV shows: Scandal, Grey’s Anatomy and How To Get Away With Murder.

This latest issue of the magazine promises an in-depth profile of the Shondaland matriarch as well as interviews with Kerry Washington and Chandra Wilson.
Washington says, “to have Shonda as an example of somebody who is living life fully and attempting to bring the best version of herself to so many different areas of her life has been really powerful for me.”
