I think we’re all excited for the return of some of our favourite tv shows this Fall. TGIT (Thank God It’s Thursday) just isn’t the same without our Shondaland lineup, but thankfully the time is drawing near when we can lock away the world and get back to our regularly scheduled programming. Here are some of the top shows I’ll be tuning into this Fall.
Already Watching
What can we say about this hit, break-out TV series, except to ask the question, who will run the Empire? The ending of season 1 was a complete game changer, now we are all eager to find out who will win the war. Empire airs on Wednesdays, starting September 23 on FOX or City TV at 9|8c.
ICYMI: Taraji P. Henson Dishes out on Cookie Lyons. Plus, Henson let’s us know what changes we can expect to see from Cookie in the next season of Empire.
Does Quinn shoot huck? Is poppa Pope really locked away for good? Is Jake really walking away from Olivia? Are Olivia and the President together at last? I’m sure all our burning questions will be answered during this seasons return of Scandal. Tune in to ABC on Thursdays, starting September 24 at 9|8c
ICYMI: Take a Walk Through Olivia Pope’s Home & Office
When we left off, Annalise assures Wes that they will find Rebecca. She sends him home. Then she heads downstairs. She asks Frank if it was him. His answer is no. He thought it was her. They are talking about the latest curveball that has been thrown their way—the lifeless body of Rebecca Sutter. Now what? Tune in to ABC or CTV on Thursdays, starting September 24 at 10|9c
After Derek passes away, we now await the rebirth of Meredith Grey and what role will the sexy new regular, Martin Henderson play? Could he be the McDreamy 2.0? Grey’s Anatomy airs Thursdays, starting September 24 on ABC or CTV at 8|7c
Read about the Shondaland Takeover where Essence, Entertainment Weekly and People Magazine team up to honor television’s preeminent creator and producer, Shonda Rhimes, and the casts of ABC’s hit shows –Grey’s Anatomy, Scandal, and How to Get Away with Murder.
New Shows
If you are an original Heroes fan, you’ll surely tune in to watch Heroes Reborn. It doesn’t look like there is any sort of continuation from the Heroes story of 2006 but we will see some characters returning including Hiro Nakamura (Masi Oka), Matt Parkman (Greg Grunberg), Mohinder Suresh (Sendhil Ramamurthy) and the Haitian (Jimmy Jean-Louis), among others. The series premier airs on Global TV September 24, at 8pm EST . . . I know what you’re thinking: “but that clashes with my Grey’s Anatomy time!!” Not to worry, if you have the Global TV app on your smartphone or tablet, you can catch it the day after or visit www.globaltv.com/heroesreborn to watch it online!
I can’t say that I loved the movie, but I am interested to see what they do with the TV series. The story begins ten years after the end of Precrime in DC, one of the three Precogs struggles to lead a normal life, remaining haunted by visions of the future. When he meets a tough, idealistic detective (played by Meagan Good) determined to fight crime, they decide to work together to stop the future murders that he sees, all the while evading those who would exploit his psychic gift to darker ends. Tune in to watch Minority Report on Global TV or FOX on Monday’s, starting September 21 at 9pm EST.
Now this movie I did like, so I’m really interested in watching the series this Fall. Limitless is a fast-paced drama based on the feature film, about Brian Finch (Jake McDorman), who discovers the brain-boosting power of the mysterious drug NZT and is coerced by the FBI into using his extraordinary cognitive abilities to solve complex cases for them.
Brian also has a relationship with Senator Edward Mora (played by Bradley Cooper, star of Limitless the movie), a presidential hopeful and regular user of NZT. Fueled now with a steady supply of NZT that enables him to use 100% of his brain capacity, Brian is more effective than all of the FBI agents combined, making him a criminal’s worst nightmare and the greatest asset the Bureau has ever possessed. Limitless will premier on Global TV, Tuesday, September 22 at 10pm EST.
I grew up watching a lot of Marvel and DC Comics cartoons and movies, so I have to check this one out. This action-adventure drama based on the DC Comics character Kara Zor-El, Superman’s (Kal-El) cousin who, after 12 years of keeping her powers a secret on Earth, decides to finally embrace her superhuman abilities and be the hero she was always meant to be. We’ll have to wait a little longer for this premier which airs on Global TV, Monday, October 26 at 8:30pm EST.
I hope you enjoy the Fall 2015 TV lineup! Feel free to come back and comment while watching or maybe I’ll open up a Twitter chat so we can watch and comment together 🙂
