I used to work with an organization where I felt the leadership was not doing enough to guide and mentor the younger members of the organization, especially when it came to overcoming roadblocks.
My co-worker and I would present a project proposal and we would often be told about why the project would not work, but I always believed that we should not doubt or completely throw away an idea because it appears to be impossible. I believed we should have been encouraged to find ways around the obstacles to the project. Even if we didn’t find viable solutions, at least we would have grown our knowledge during the exploration and found alternative ways to setup or rollout the project.
Next time you find yourself doubting something, I challenge you to wonder beyond the obstacles to envision a solution and see what knowledge you find there.
